The Down Syndrome Mental Health Project is a website for parents, educators, physicians, mental-health and other professionals interested in persons with Down syndrome and coexisting behavioral and mental health needs.
The site contains information, news and resources on medical, behavioral, social and mental health issues. You will take away practical how-to guidelines for improved understanding, management, treatment planning…and more!
The dsMHp website also explores the complex intersection of medicine-neuroscience-psychology and the cultural factors which informs our perspective on personhood, intelligence, behavior and mental health in persons with Down syndrome. Because of the complexity inherent to these unique human qualities the project itself can never be complete, and will always remain a work in progress.
