CDSPG Signs On in Support of Caregivers/Parents to Receive Priority for Vaccination
In partnership with The Arc Maryland and Little Lobbyists, CDSPG’s Board of Directors signed onto a position statement advocating for caregivers/parents to receive priority in Maryland for COVID-19 vaccination on January 26, 2021.
Further, CDSPG took action with the Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County to spread the word among the other Down syndrome organizations in Maryland, hoping to amplify this message: we strongly recommend that the Maryland Department of Health amend its written vaccine distribution plan to include home caregivers, including family members, who provide regular medical care to children and adults with developmental disabilities and/or complex medical needs as “health care providers” prioritized for COVID-19 vaccination under Phase 1.
